Admissions Process

St Bede’s and St Joseph’s is oversubscribed and receives more applications than there are places available. It is important therefore to get the process of application right.
There are 290 places available at the college for new Year 7 students and being a Catholic school the application process is as follows:
Applicants are encouraged to fill in an application form and submit it to Bradford District Council.  This can be done online at www.bradford.gov.uk/education

This online admissions system will be available for applications from 5th September 2017 for children born between 1st September 2006 and 31st August 2007 for a September 2018 start in year 7.

As a faith school applicants must also complete a Supplementary Form (found at the above website address or on the St Bede’s and St Joseph’s website).  This form must be sent directly to the Admissions Office at the school which is based at the Ignis site, Cunliffe Road, Bradford BD8 7AP.

The deadline for all applications is 31st October 2017.

Admissions consultation regarding Policies for Admissions for September 2017

As the admissions’ Authority for St Bede’s and St Joseph’s Catholic College, Bradford the Governors wish to consult in accordance with the Admissions Code on the following changes to the boundaries covered in the admissions policies for St Mary's and St Peter's Catholic primary school and St Bede's and St Joseph's Catholic College.

The Bishop has authorised under Canon law the change to parish boundaries as given in the description below:

"After consulting the Council of Priests on 13th July 2016, I wish to inform you that the boundaries of the Parish of St Joseph, Pudsey and the Parish of St Mary, Bradford have been redrawn with the territory bounded by Bradford Road, Daleside Road, Galloway Lane and the Calder Valley Railway Line being ceded to the Parish of St Joseph, Pudsey".
Bishop Marcus Stock

This decreases the catchment area for St Mary’s and St Peter’s Catholic primary school and St Bede’s and St Joseph’s Catholic College. The purpose of the school is to provide a Catholic education to the families within the defined areas as outlined in our existing policy and we will continue to do so. The attached proposed Admissions Policy for St Bede’s and St Joseph’s Catholic College is given for your information. If you would like to comment on these proposals please contact Trish Green.
