Each year St Benedict's students nominate charities that they will support over the coming year. This year our students have chosen the following Charity:  Papyrus prevention of young suicide.  Our student leaders attended a workshop to gain an insight into the stigma behind suicide. Suicide is the biggest killer of young people, particularly men, under the age of 35. Last year 1500 people died as a result of suicide and the workshop was set up to increase awareness and show that it is OK to talk about suicide and know where to go to get help. As a result of this workshop the sixth form students will now   deliver a presentation to their peers during form time so that everyone at St Benedict's is aware of the good work the charity does and how we can continue to support and raise money for this worthy cause.
