Subject: Level 3 BTEC Health and Social Care (Diploma, Subsidiary Diploma and Certificate)

Health and Social Care is offered at BTEC Level 3, this qualification is widely recognised and accepted by the majority of universities.  By studying this subject students gain an insight into what it is like to work in a Health or Social Care setting. Students will learn firsthand how a career in Health and Social Care is about caring and understanding for individuals requiring support to live their lives. Employment in this sector requires you to help, support and empower people to help them maintain their independence and lead fuller lives. Working environments vary from care homes to hospitals to community support work, generally making a difference in the lives of:

  • Older people

  • Disabled people

  • People with mental health problems

  • People with learning disabilities

  • Children and families

  • Young vulnerable individuals

    Students do not need to have studied Health and Social Care to gain a place on the course. 

    Skills Attained:

    This course provides you with the knowledge, skills and practical experience to pursue a career in the health and social care sector and provide you with a good foundation for many degree courses. The course helps develop study skills, self- confidence and communication skills through group work, role plays, presentations and work experience.
