Year 9 Football and Rugby Roundup

Year 9 Rugby

Second festival of the season at Bradford Salem gave us another 2 wins to add to the 4 we picked up last week, which keeps us top of the league with a healthy points difference. The boys were really disappointed to lose out in a tight game against an excellent Parkside team. Especially considering we had beaten them twice the previous week. However, they dusted themselves down quickly and got back to winning ways with a fantastic team performance, beating a strongly fancied Beckfoot side.

Man of the festival was Harkaran Singh, scoring 6 tries on the night.

Our boys made it two wins from two games in the competitive West Yorkshire League.  The most pleasing thing was the way the boys remained committed and dignified throughout the match despite the comfortable nature of the win. In my opinion, this shows the level of maturity within the squad as I know it can be easy for boys of this age to 'showboat' or gloat, which is very disrespectful to the opponents.
