During the half term holidays, a group of year 9 and year 7 students attended the Carling Cup match, at Old Trafford, between Manchester United and Middlesbrough.
This was a fantastic experience for the students, many of whom were attending a live football match for the first time. The students were amazed at the size of the stadium and the noise of the place upon arrival. A football match under the floodlights is always a magical experience, especially when its held in such a prestigious and impressive such as Old Trafford.
Unfortunately for our students, Manchester United lost on penalties. The vast majority of the students are Manchester United fans and some were understandably disappointed with the result. However, all students were in good spirits throughout the whole trip despite the result and the endless traffic were endured on our journey home.
Judging from the reactions, seeing the likes ofWayne Rooney and Anthony Martial in the flesh was clearly an exciting experience for all the students in attendance. I am sure this is a trip they will remember for a long time to come.
