'Awary Day' in preparation for Lourdes trip

On Saturday 14th May the Year 10 girls who are preparing to go on the Leeds Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes went to Ampleforth for an ‘away day’.

They spent the morning at the Abbey preparing practically for caring for the sick. We also spent time reflecting upon the message of Lourdes and the purpose of pilgrimage in our lives. This was followed by a sponsored walk and Mass with Fr Bede at his parish in Ampleforth village. The girls had a fabulous time and were an absolute credit to our school.

This is some of what Fr Bede said in an email thanking the girls:

"What a lovely day for us in the way the girls didn’t just join us for Mass but how they fully immersed in it thank you. A number of parishioners said how they had appreciated the wonderful singing & presence. A number of them have sent me emails this morning saying how beautiful the singing was and how it felt like you were on a pilgrimage. So do thank the girls for bringing the life & love of Pentecost to our parish. We will keep them & you all in our prayers here.”
