9 primary schools arrived at St Bede's and St Joseph's all rearing to go as they prepared to take part in a 5 a side football tournament. The teams were split into 2 leagues to compete to get to the final.
League A was a close league with a potential 2 winners going into the final game, St Anthony's Clayton and St Francis. After 10 minutes this ended in a 0-0 draw. After some quick maths St Francis were announced as winners by a goal difference of 1.
League B had 1 team who appeared unbeatable, St Joseph's Bradford, who stormed through their games with ease.
In the final both teams started well with some near misses at both ends. St Francis took an early lead slipping one past the keeper, and quickly followed with a second. St Joseph's still had a few minutes to turn things around. A sequence of strong passing led to a goal being scored and they were now back in the game. In the dying seconds though St Francis broke free and managed to score again just before the final whistle. Well done to both St Francis who won 3-1 and St Joseph's who were worthy opponents.
Well done to all the teams who took part to make this a most enjoyable tournament; St Joseph's Bingley, St Anthony's Shipley, St Anthony's Clayton, St Columbas, St Mary's and St Peter's, Our Lady and St Brendan's and St John's
