On Friday 10th February, Ignis was the venue for a meeting of lay chaplains of secondary schools.
Lay chaplains have a very important role to play in coordinating the spiritual life of Catholic schools.
It was our pleasure to host the meeting this term and it is always good to get together to discuss initiatives, share ideas and generally just to catch up with what is going on in Catholic schools around the diocese. The Bishop was represented by Fr Tim Swinglehurst, and at lunchtime Fr Michael Doody (an old boy of St Bede’s) celebrated mass for the group. We were grateful that they both found the time to join with us to share their insights and their friendship.
As ever, a big thankyou also to Julia Findlay from St Mary’s, Menston for organising and chairing our meeting.
