Bradford Catholic Girls' Choir - part of the Diocese's Schools Singing Programme and supported by St. Bede's and St. Joseph's - broadcast live on Radio 4 recently. The choir are regularly invited to sing for the BBC, and are one of only a handful of youth choirs to enjoy this privilege. The trip involved a 6am departure from Ignis to travel to Manchester for the recording - as usual we enjoyed working the BBC producer, presenter and engineer, who were all very impressed with the choir's professionalism and quality.
The girls gave a live broadcast of BBC Radio 4's Daily Service on Tuesday, singing hymns and music by Vaughan Williams, and recorded the music for the following day's broadcast afterwards, including Cesar Franck's famous Panis Angelicus.
The broadcasts were also attended by post-graduate students from the University of Notre Dame in America - visiting the Diocesan choirs to learn about professional practice and see the standards achieved by our young singers.

The choir rehearses on Mondays after school at IGNIS - please contact the Diocese Music Department at firstname.lastname@example.org for membership enquiries
