Key Stage 4 Option Choices
Welcome to our Year 9 Transition into Key Stage 4
Making your option choices is the first step in your Key Stage 4 journey. To make sure this transition goes smoothly, all students should ask themselves: “What do I want to do after Year 11?”
This question needs careful thought when selecting subjects to study at Key Stage 4.
First and foremost, you should select subjects you find interesting and enjoyable. You should also consider those subjects where you feel you have good ability and have achieved the best marks in your Year 9 assessed work. Also, if you do have some idea about your future career, you should check that your chosen subjects support your plans.
To help you make your choices, information about each subject can be found in the booklet below:
This provides information about the Key Stage 4 courses available to your child, the subject content that will be covered and how each subject will be assessed.
Subject specific videos for each of our GCSE and BTEC options can be found below. These videos feature our staff explaining important information about their subject at Key Stage 4.
A PowerPoint presentation explaining the Year 9 Options Process can be accessed here after the Option Evening on 26 January ;
