Year 10 Expectations Evening: Back to the Classroom
Our Year 10 Expectations Evening for Parents and Students takes place next Thursday – and we’ve booked your place for you!
The purpose of the event is to engage parents and students at the beginning of their four-year educational journey at Ardor – the SBSJ Senior Site. We want to provide a positive, interactive experience to let parents:
- feel what it’s like to be in a fantastic SBSJ lesson
- find out how best to support their child through GCSEs and on to Sixth Form
- speak informally to subject specialists and House Teams.
At the same time, we want to:
- train students in effective study skills
- raise aspirations for the future
- communicate College expectations.
The event begins at 17:30 in the main hall with a welcome from the Headteacher and key messages from senior staff. Then parents and students will go Back to the Classroom to gain an insight into high quality, everyday learning at SBSJ. Together, you will have the opportunity to discuss study skills and revision techniques to help your child achieve the highest grades at GCSE.
You and your child are then invited to refreshments in the refectory, with an added opportunity to chat to subject specialists, find out about online revision resources and win a prize in the raffle!
