“Vox estis lux mundi"You are the light of the world. (Matthew 5:14)
‘And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church’ (Matthew 16:18)
This passage from Matthew’s Gospel is famous for being emblazoned in great letters of gold round the interior of the dome of St. Peter's at Rome. This part of scripture tells us that the Church is built on Christ, he is the foundation of Christian faith. This allows us all to feel safe in the knowledge that our faith could have no stronger foundation. In St Matthew’s House, we fill out our lives in and out of the College, safe in the knowledge that we have a sturdy foundation in which to flourish academically, socially and spiritually. This ensures that our lives are truly touched by Christ each and every day.
