The governors, staff and students of our community would like to wish all of our families and friends a very happy Christmas.
Students and staff are set for a well-earned break after an exceptionally busy term. Our Radiate policy is now nearly one term old and has made a tremendous difference in student behaviour that was already good but is now considerably better, meaning that classroom activity is exclusively focused on creating a learning environment where all students are able to flourish.
The college continues to offer an extensive range of extra-curricular activities from water polo to archery, from debating clubs to CAFOD groups. Our new Student Champions are up and running and with a budget of up to £20,000 to spend are set to make some interesting decisions to improve the general experience of the student body here at St Bede’s and St Joseph’s.
Our second Shine Day of the year is scheduled for Thursday 17th December, where we will explore the ‘learning muscle’ of teamwork, celebrate achievement and discuss with students the outcome of the second performance data collection of the year.
Years 11 and 13, in particular, who have just sat or are about to sit Pre-Public Examinations, should now have been advised how to improve grades in readiness for the summer exam season.
The school will close on Friday 18th December at the usual time and will re-open on Monday 4th January 2016.
I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
