Harvest Festival Food for the St Pio Friary

For this years Harvest Festival we asked our students to help the Franciscan Friars in their work.

Each form set to collecting tins of Soup, tins of Tuna and Jars of Coffee. We had over 1020 items brought to school by our students and staff.

We loaded up the mini bus and set off for the Pio Friary in Bradford.

Brother Benedict was on hand to meet us and was overwhelmed when we opened up the bus packed with donations. He thanked the students and staff of St Bede’s and St Joseph’s Catholic College for their generosity. ‘This gift is a real life saver,’ he said ‘as we were nearly out of food’. This food will keep us going for some while into the future – God bless them’

This December students from St Benedict’s will be helping out at the Friars Christmas Party when they put on a Christmas Dinner for the people of Bradford who are in need. For this event we will be donating ‘Warm Packs’ comprising Hats. Gloves and Scarves - which will then be distributed to those who are in need. Donations of these items will be gratefully received at either of the Chaplaincy Rooms.
