St Bede’s and St Joseph’s Catholic College in the City of Bradford is now the largest Catholic co-educational school in the country. Split over two sites IGNIS (lower school) and ARDOR (upper school) the governors of our learning community are keen to appoint a successful and highly effective leader whose particular skills and abilities will enable the college build on its strong ethos.
St Bede’s and St Joseph’s Catholic College is a new co-educational school formed by the amalgamation of the two single sex Catholic Secondary Schools in Bradford. When it opens in September 2014, it will be the biggest Catholic School in England with more than 2,300 students. Mixed classes will commence for the 290 students in Year 7 in 2014 and the school will be fully co-educational by 2018.
The existing schools, St Bede’s Catholic Grammar School and St Joseph’s Catholic College, are oversubscribed and have a long record of academic achievement; both are among the highest attaining schools in Bradford. There has been an upward trend in results over the last three years and this trend is set to continue in 2014.
The school is located within easy commuting distance of Leeds, Skipton and a range of towns in Yorkshire.
