During the first week of the summer holidays 15 students from our sixth form travelled to Dimaro, Italy to take part in a work experience project. Dimaro is famous for hosting the Napoli Football team and our students got first hand chance to view some world class football as well as meeting some of the star footballers. The experience linked directly to the student's BTEC Vocational Learning and it was a great way for them to get to grips with taking part in outdoor adventurous activities . Students took part in various work experience posts which included; working at the rafting centre, serving ice cream at the ice cream factory, presenting dinner at the restaurant, helping at the high ropes centre and getting to grips with using the Italian language whilst working in a sports shop. In addition, the students got chance to take part in the activities and enjoyed trekking, mountain bike, swimming, climbing and a host of other activities. The staff got chance to dabble in a little golf, with Mr Hannan having a slight sulk having been beaten on the course by Mr Boatwright. A great experience for all and we look forward to next year.
The next Erasmus + Trip takes place in December with students going back to Folgarida for skiing and work experience.
