This year our sixth form are supporting the Papyrus Charity, which focusses on suicide prevention. Our student leaders attended a workshop to gain an insight into the stigma behind suicide. Suicide is thebiggest killer of young people, particularly men, under the age of 35. Last year 1500 people died as a result of suicide and the workshop was set up to increaseawareness and show that it is OK to talk about suicide and know where to go to get help. As a result of this workshop the sixth form students will now deliver a presentation to their peers during form time so that everyone at St Benedict's is aware of the good work the charity does and how we can continue to support and raise money for this worthy cause.
