Over the Easter Holidays four students from our sixth form took part in their Duke of Edinburgh Gold Expedition. Robert Horsley, Andrew Parker, Jack Hardy and Aiden Doherty all took to the countryside to navigate themselves through the Lake District. The boys spent 3 days and 2 nights walking, camping, cooking and appreciating the stunning views of Windermere. In total the boys walked over 40km and gained some extremely painful blisters along the way.
This was a trial run in preparation for their final assessment that will take place just before they break for the summer holidays. In the final assessment they will be camping for 3 nights and walking for 4 days. If they successfully complete their assessment they will receive their award at Windsor Castle, presented to them by the Duke of Edinburgh himself.
We wish them every success!
