On Monday 17th July, it was the annual sports day across both sites at St Bede’s and St Joseph’s Catholic College. The weather was beautiful and students and staff were well armed with lots of sun cream, hats and sunglasses.
The Sixth Form sports day consisted of some Rounders and a tug of war competition, ably organised by Mr Hussain and his sixth form volunteers. The students really enjoyed themselves and enjoyed a treat in the sixth form common room afterwards.
The Ardor students in year 10 held track races in the morning and then had a multitude of events to choose from in the afternoon. This was well organised by Mr Hannan and selected staff who helped make the day enjoyable for the students who conducted themselves in a superb manner all day.
The Ignis students had track heats and field in the morning, along with Dodgeball and Waterpolo. Followed by track finals in the afternoon. Each form was allocated a country and students came up with some outstanding posters, banners, flags and even had some faces painted. The 1000 students that were in attendance in the afternoon were all treated to some outstanding athletics. As always at St Bede’s and St Joseph’s, behaviour was outstanding. Mr O’Donnell announced the winners and finished the college day with a prayer which was a really special way to end the day.
Another outstanding day of sport at St Bede's and St Joseph's Catholic College.
