Water Polo Squad Meal

Toby Carvery Meal Nov.JPG

Friday 23rd November 2018 saw our first Water Polo squad meal of the this academic year to Toby Carvery. We had 50 students attend and it could have been more but some members of the team had other commitments on the night and that doesn't include any of the year 7 students either. Before everyone went up for food we reflected on last years success, which was our most successful year to date. Below is a reminder on last years success.

U18 Boys - Yorkshire Champions and placed 3rd in the North of England, English Schools Championships, only missing out on the final by one place.

U18 Girls - Placed 4th in the English Schools National Final. The first time this age group had reached the final and in fact the first time this age group had won any matches because we had a very young team for the first 2-3 years whilst we tried to build our first girls Water Polo team.

U15 Boys/Mixed - Reached the English Schools Championship and placed 6th. History was made reaching the final. Actually getting to the final was probably the biggest challenge, having to fight through the snow in the morning to get to Bradford interchange when our coach could not transport us and then to take a total of 10 trains to get there and back safely. What an experience. A brilliant group of young people. What a team!

U13 Girls - Placed 4th in the English Schools National Final. Another story of having to overcome obstacles at the final when we were informed by the English Schools Swimming Association that two of our most experienced players (including our captain/goalkeeper) weren't eligible to take part in the final.

Well done to the U13 Boys, U12 Boys and U12 Girls who all did well in their respective competitions.

As well as last years success we also reflected on the progress we've made so far this year and we can't wait to see what the season brings.

Well done to all involved and thank you to those who came Friday. No matter where we go, you always represent the school really well and the staff were very compilatory on how well mannered and behaved everyone was during the evening. Lastly thank you to our very own Mia Labad, who was serving us that night.
