During Advent we changed our focus and each form group collected specific items of food to make up their form’s ‘Hampers of Hope’.
These ‘Hampers of Hope’ are to be distributed by Catholic Care to needy families, who are struggling to be able to have anything special this Christmas .
It was marvellous how our Houses and their form groups rallied round making such festive Hampers.
When Catholic Care brought their van to collect the Hampers, the van was full to overflowing with over 70 Hampers of Hope. These Hampers have now been given to families in our area and will help to make a difference to what otherwise might have been a bleak outlook. I thank all students, form teachers and House staff for their efforts in making such eye-catching Hampers of Hope.
We collected ‘Food for the Friars’, which resulted in over 1200 items of food being delivered to St Pio Friary at St Patrick’s Mission in Bradford.
This food is being used as I write – being used in the Friars Soup Kitchen; feeding the most needy people in Bradford. I thank all parents and student who have helped in any way.
