A group of year 10 students visited Leeds to take part in a workshop led by the Ernst & Young Foundation.
This event was aimed to give students an opportunity to look at different career options that they might not have previously considered. There were group discussions on the importance of good CV writing and the individual groups scrutinised personal statements and letters of applications from potential candidates looking to work for Ernst & Young.
This allowed them to see what employers are looking for when it comes to applying for jobs. The day ended with guest speakers from businesses chatting with the students about their jobs. The students got a real insight into what employers are looking for and this will hopefully encourage them to work harder in their subjects so that they can have the edge to make themselves more employable once they leave SBSJ.
