Year 8 and Year 9 Retreats for 2019

We are delighted to be able to offer students in Year 8 (the opportunity of a Residential Retreat at the Youth Village near Consett in County Durham. This retreat will be from Wednesday 8 May to Friday 10 May 2019. The Y8 Youth Village Retreat will be led by members of the Youth Ministry team based there, who are well used to working with young people and who will provide a good experience at this important time in your son’s / daughter’s life. 

The cost of the Retreat is £105: This includes return travel, all board and meals, insurance, the service of the Retreat leaders and use of the facilities at the Youth Village. In line with school policy, students eligible for Pupil Premium have school visits subsidised by 25%. This reduces the cost to £79. Please speak to your Head of House or Mr Copley for further clarification if needed. Please pay a non-returnable £30 deposit to secure a place. (Payment should be made by ParentPay. Permission Slip should be placed in an envelope with Youth Village and your son’s / daughter’s name written on it and taken to their House Office. The deadline for deposits is half-term 15 February and full payment needs to be made by the Wednesday 17 April. I am sure your son / daughter will have a wonderful Retreat at the Youth Village, it is an opportunity to enjoy some quality reflective time, away from college.

Y9 Retreat to Ampleforth

Y9 Ampleforth Residential Retreats May 2019 We are delighted to be able to offer our Year 9 students the opportunity of a Residential Retreat at the Ampleforth Abbey. Two retreats are being offered: Monday 13 May to Wednesday 15 May for students in teaching groups 9A to 9E and Wednesday 15 May until Friday 17 May for students in teaching groups 9F to 9J. These Y9 Ampleforth Retreat will be led by members of the team based at Ampleforth, who are well used to working with young people and by staff from our college. This retreat will provide a good experience at this important time in your daughter’s / son’s life.

The cost of the Retreat has been reduced to £80: This includes return travel, all board and meals, insurance, the service of the Retreat leaders, and use of the facilities at Ampleforth. In line with college policy, students eligible for Pupil Premium have school visits subsidised by 25%. This reduces the cost to £60. For further clarification please speak to Mr Copley or your daughter’s / son’s House Leader. If you would like your daughter / son to go on the retreat - on ParentPay, please tick to allow your daughter / son to go on the Ampleforth Retreat and pay of the £30 deposit. The deadline for deposits is the end of March and full payment needs to be made by the end of April.
