London Theatre Tour
On Wednesday 3rd July 2019 44 staff and students travelled down to London for an exciting three day London Theatre Tour. We departed school on Wednesday at 9.30am by coach and travelled to London. Once we arrived we checked in, freshened up and travelled to Garfunkel’s restaurant for an evening meal. We then had some free time in Trafalgar Square before an evening performance of Aladdin at the Prince Edwards Theatre... it was spectacular. We had amazing seats in the stalls, where we witnessed the bright colours, fantastic choreography and direction brought this Disney classic to life!
We woke Thursday, had breakfast and travelled to Camden Markets where the students explored the quirky stalls and cobbled streets before meeting to travel to the brilliant 'Tate Modern' Museum experiencing the international and modern contemporary art - exhibitions. We then had free time in Covent Gardens before meeting for a lovely evening meal at Wildwoods restaurant, then it was on to our evening performance of Matilda the Musical at the Cambridge Theatre. We were incredibly lucky to have front row seats and experience the exciting staging and performance tricks the show has to offer... it was INCREDIBLE!
We woke bright and early on Friday, met for breakfast then checked out and headed to the fabulous ‘The Making of Harry Potter- Warner Bros. Studio Tour’. We explored the tour seeing the stunning costumes, breathtakingly detailed sets and intricate props that fill the Studio Tour's two soundstages and backlot. Students indulged in the Studio shops before we headed back up the motorway arriving at school at just before 6pm.
We really did have a fantastic few days and the students were fabulous, they all really engaged in all the activities and culture of London! Thank you to all who came both staff and students!.
