Yr7 visit Cartwright Hall

Yr7 pupils got the opportunity to visit Cartwright Hall during September to take part in workshops that linked English with Art. For some of our students this was their first visit to Cartwright Hall, they were able to explore the hall's history whilst getting to appreciate the paintings.

Some of Hockey’s famous paintings are homed in Cartwright Hall and the workshops allowed students to interpret some of the artwork and to explore their own creative skills by telling their own stories linked to the pictures.

A visit to lister park is never complete with a quick blast of the play area so with a swing and a slide the session was finished and the hope is that students can now find their own way to the gallery and continue to appreciate Cartwright Hall's historical significance to the city.
