Ampleforth 2024
As a Catholic school, it is always our wish to provide students with the opportunity to spend time off timetable each year where they can have time to reflect on the deeper questions of identity, relationships and communion with God. We also wish to give our students time outside of school to continue to build on friendships and make new friendships with other students in their House and year group. We are therefore delighted to be able to offer our Year 8 and Year 9 students the opportunity of a residential retreat at Ampleforth Abbey in North Yorkshire this June.
Students will be allocated to one of the retreat dates listed below. Where possible, students will travel in House groups, but we are unable to finalise groupings until we know student numbers.
Retreat 1: Monday 17th June to Wednesday 19th June 2024
Retreat 2: Wednesday 19th June to Friday 21st June 2024
The retreat will be led by members of the Ampleforth team, who work regularly with young people from all over the country, and they will be assisted by our own College staff. This retreat will provide a good, positive experience at this important time in your child’s life. The cost of the retreat is £130; this includes return travel, all board and meals, insurance, the service of the retreat leaders, and use of the newly refurbished facilities at Ampleforth Abbey. To secure your child’s place, please pay a non-refundable deposit of £30 to your child’s Arbor account by Friday 15th March 2024. The remaining balance of £100 will be due by Friday 10th May 2024. In the event of the retreats becoming oversubscribed, students will be selected at random and any student unsuccessful will have their deposit refunded. Once places on retreat are confirmed a detailed itinerary and parental consent form will be sent to all parents for completion.
